A Himachali origin Professor, Dr. Manish Verma, Director (School of Communication) at Amity’s Jaipur Campus has been selected for a prestigious professional program at Harvard University. Prof. Verma belongs to Chowari town of Distt. Chamba.
This program is run by Harvard’ Graduate School of Education for professional in Leadership and Management Role in Education. Every year around 40 participants from around the world are selected for this program after a long application process. Prof. Verma has got the place in this program after a wait for 2 years. This program will be conducted during June-July 2016 at Harvard Campus.
Prof. (Dr.) Manish Verma is senior media education professional with varied experience in academics, research and media industry. Prof. Verma is currently working as Director-School of Communication at Amity University Jaipur. Previously he has worked as Director at JICM (Jagran Institute of Communication and Management) Bhopal, Head (Fashion Communication) at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Govt. of India.
Prof. Verma conceptualized and organized India’s first International Conference on Media Studies on the topic,” Changing Paradigm of Media Landscape in the Digital Age” in March 2011 and the second edition of the same conference in Nov 2015. Prof. Verma is the Founder Editor of Amity Journal of Media and Communication Studies. He has designed curriculum for new programs like MBA (Media Management) and Masters in Film and TV Production.
He was awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by UGC in Media Studies and he completed his Ph.D. in Advertising. Prof. Verma is known internationally and has been invited as the Keynote speaker/Panelist by various conferences in India and abroad. Recently Prof. gave a keynote address in International Conference on Advertising in Sri Lanka in Nov 2015.
